Oklahoma Baptist pitcher Jake Hamilton was named a Co-Pitcher of the Week by the Great American Conference on Wednesday. It is his second career honor.
During the game-three finale at Northwestern Oklahoma State on March 5, the senior right-handed pitcher turned in a sensational performance.
Over 7.0 innings pitched, and 25 batters faced, he allowed just two hits, didn't give up a run and fanned a career-high 14 batters. That strikeout total also tied for the second-most by a Bison pitcher in the D2 era.
The last time that many batters were struck out by a Bison pitcher came on April 4, 2017 when OBU Hall of Famer Jinny Parra attained the same amount against Northwestern.
Hamilton and OBU will return to action this coming weekend when Southeastern Oklahoma State comes to town for a three-game series.
