Oklahoma State's seventh-ranked equestrian team defeated No. 2 TCU, 11-9, Saturday at the Pedigo Hull Equestrian Center.

The win improves the Cowgirls to 5-3 on the season and gives them control of the Big 12 at 4-1. It also extended their win streak to a season-best three meets, all of which coming against ranked opponents. The win gives them three wins in their last four meetings with TCU and improves them to 13-1 all-time when the teams meet in Stillwater.

The victory capped off a senior day in which the Cowgirls honored 11 in the Class of 2023. Oklahoma State also dedicated its recently constructed team building with a ceremony after the meet.

"Today was a special day for sure and I am very happy for our seniors," head coach Larry Sanchez said.  "The meet ended up closer than I'd hoped but I am happy that we got the win. We had a great crowd today even though it was cold, and the girls sure appreciated all of the support."

Saturday's competition began with Fences and Horsemanship, with OSU coming out on top in both.

In Fences, the Cowgirls earned three of the five points. TCU claimed the first point with Sydney Berube defeating Hope King 80-77, but the next two points went to the Cowgirls with Sydney North besting Isabella Baxter, 83-80, and Emma Pacyna slipping by Jordyn Scelsa, 81-79. The Horned Frogs struck next with Ashleigh Scully beating Sydnie Ziegler, 80-77. The Fences MOP, Riley Hogan, responded by getting the last point for the Cowgirls by narrowly defeating Ella Bostwick, 82-81. Hogan is now 8-1 on the season and has gotten two MOP awards this year.

In Horsemanship, the Cowgirls once again took the majority of the points. TCU got the first two points with MOP Jessica McAllister defeating Jojo Roberson, 80-78, and Giorgia Medows besting Peyton Baxter, 73.5-69.5. June Roberson started the Cowgirls on their next scoring streak by beating Payton Boutelle, 74.5-69.5. Next, Maddie Fussell outscored Shea Graham, 75-72.5, and Claire McDowall closed out Horsemanship for the Cowgirls by beating Mattie Dukes, 78.5-77.

The meet continued with Flat and Reining.

In Flat, TCU scored the majority of the points. The Horned Frogs claimed the first two points. Wynne Weatherly defeated Hope King, 81-79, and MOP Sydnie Young bested Elizabeth Carter, 83-81. The Cowgirls secured the next two points as Ella Reinauer overcame Victoria Zahorik, 78-75, and Grace McReynolds scored the meet-winning point for the Cowgirls after beating Laurel Smith, 76-67. TCU scored the last point of the meet when Ashleigh Scully defeated Riley Hogan, 76-68.

In Reining, points went back and forth between the Frogs and the Cowgirls. Jojo Roberson started the Cowgirls off by defeating Shea Graham, 68.5-62. Next was Molly Mitchell, who fell to Mattie Dukes, 68.5-63. Hannah Lovrien then skimmed past Giorgia Medows, 72-71, and Tristan Bagby was just shy of MOP Lannie-Jo Lisac, 72.5-72. Last up for the Cowgirls was Quincee Clark, who claimed the last point in Reining by outscoring Jessica McAllister, 70.5-70.

The Cowgirls will be back in action with a trip to California on March 3rd and 4th to take on UC Davis and Fresno State.
