Northwestern Oklahoma State University Lady Rangers Win Big in Season Finale

Northwestern Oklahoma State Lady Rangers closed out the regular season with a 77-60 victory over Southeastern. Rangers used a 10-0 run to open a double digit lead against Southeastern and controlled the game from that point in the quarter. 

Rangers completed the 17 point victory behind three double figure scorers including 30 from Simpson and 23 from Craig on seven three pointers. Camille Thomas finished with 11 points in the victory.


FIRST QUARTER: 

Faith Simpson got the scoring started with a layup to push the Rangers out in front 2-0. The Lady Ranger defense caused problems early for Southeastern, holding the Savage Storm scoreless until the 6:28 mark with the Rangers already up 5-0 following a three pointer by Craig. Caitlin Kobiske put the Savage Storm on the board with a layup. Craig hit her second straight three. After Southeastern closed the gap to one, Faith Simpson answered with a three point play after knocking down a jump shot after drawing a foul to bring the game to 11-7. The game hit a standstill at 11-9 before the Lady Rangers closed the quarter on a 9-4 run to take a 20-15 lead in the second quarter. 

SECOND QUARTER:

Rangers built momentum in the start of the second quarter as Carly Craig hit her third three pointer of the half for a 23-15 lead. Simpson followed to push the Lady Rangers into a double digit lead for the first time. Lady Rangers pushed their lead to 15 following five more points for a 10-0 run as the Lady Rangers led 30-15. Southeastern answered with a 5-0 run for a 30-20 Ranger lead.Talayah Thomas hit a three to stop the run followed by a couple foul shots as the Rangers pushed their lead back to 15. Craig kept the pressure on with another three pushing the Rangers in front by 18. Northwestern held a 14 point advantage at 41-27 at the break following a layup by Simpson. 

THIRD QUARTER:

Southeastern started the scoring in the second half on a three pointer by Alverson but Simpson answered with  six straight points on three field goals to take a 47-30 lead. Simpson scored 10 straight for Northwestern for a 51-37 lead halfway through the third quarter. T. Thomas foul shots followed by a Simpson layup had the Rangers up by 20. Camille Thomas hit a layup and Craig made a three pointer with six seconds left to go up 65-39 over the Savage Storm through three quarters. 

FOURTH QUARTER:

Simpson scored first in the fourth taking a 67-39 lead over the Savage Storm. Camille Thomas and Talayah Thomas answered a couple Southeastern shots to continue to hold a 20 plus lead over the visitors as the lead stayed at 28. Carly Craig hit a three pointer to go up 77-50 before Southeastern closed the game on a 10-0 run. Northwestern finished the season with a 77-60 victory over the Savage Storm behind 30 points from Simpson and 23 from Craig. 

Northwestern finishes the regular season at 12-14 on the season.
