Southern Arkansas (12-14, 8-12 GAC) forced 23 turnovers en route to an 87-51 victory over Oklahoma Baptist (14-12, 10-10 GAC) inside the W.T. Watson Athletic Center on Saturday afternoon.

OBU fell into a deep hole early after the Muleriders scored 51 points in the opening half, highlighted by 13 three-point makes. Meanwhile, the Bison were held to a 34.6 percent shooting clip (9-26).

Everything fell for SAU, who shot lights out from beyond the arc, finishing with 20 threes.

Shots fell quickly for Oklahoma Baptist in the first, as they built a 5-0 advantage following a triple from Jaedyn Getman. SAU erased the victory over the following possessions, knotting the contest seven-all with six minutes left in the inaugural quarter. It was the last time OBU would lead in the game.

The Muleriders proceeded to score 26 points before the quarter ended, with 18 coming from beyond the arc. On the other hand, the Bison mustered just four points to trail 31-11 going in the next period.

The opposition cooled off in the second quarter, netting just 38.9 percent of their shot attempts. Unfortunately, Oklahoma Baptist didn't shoot better but lessened its deficit a bit before the break.

OBU showed life in the third, shooting 55.6% from the floor to add 13 to its tally, but Southern Arkansas refused to let up.

SAU tacked on 36 points before the game's final buzzer to finish out the victory.

Jill Leslie paced the Bison with 15 points on 7-9 (77.7%) shooting. Leslie paired the total with 12 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season.

Getman scored eight points, highlighted by a couple of three-pointers. Kennedy Large and Madison Chambers added matching totals of six points to wrap up the Bison notables.

Oklahoma Baptist will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 23, at Southeastern Oklahoma State at 5:30 p.m.
