Oklahoma Baptist volleyball's Maci Langford, a junior libero, became the first Great American Conference defensive player to earn four Player of the Week honors in the same season on Monday. The league has been in competition since 2011.
Previously, East Central's Alejandra Delgado and Harding's Zoe Hardin were named Defensive Player of the Week three times in 2021 and 2016, respectively.
Langford's weekly honor comes after another standout performance, this one in a 3-0 road win at Southwestern Oklahoma State on Oct. 20.
During that contest in which the Bison halted SWOSU's 19-game home winning streak, Langford recorded 29 digs with an impressive average of 9.67 per set. Additionally, she helped OBU's defense limit the Bulldogs to a .084 attack mark.
This season, the Arlington, Texas native ranks tenth in the country in digs (5.49). That mark is good for second in the GAC, and just behind the leader, Ouachita's Lexie Castillow (5.56).
Tomorrow, Langford and company host East Central at 7 p.m. inside the Noble Complex.
