OBU recently welcomed Dr. Timothy Kaiser to the faculty as assistant professor of instrumental music education. Kaiser assumed his role July 1, ahead of the fall 2022 semester.
Prior to joining the faculty at OBU, he served as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Arizona beginning in 2019. He previously served as assistant band director at Del Valle High School in Texas from 2013 to 2019. He also served as director of bands at Dailey Middle School in Austin, Texas, from 2012 to 2013. He previously served as a graduate teaching assistant at the University of Texas at Arlington and trumpet instructor for Birdville ISD in North Richland Hills, Texas. From 2003 to 2008, he served as director of instrumental music at Antioch High School in California.
He earned a Bachelor of Music in music education from the University of the Pacific. He later earned a Master of Music in music education from the University of Texas at Arlington. He also earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in wind conducting from the University of Arizona.
Dr. Matthew Emerson, dean of theology, arts and humanities, is pleased to welcome Kaiser to the faculty of the Warren M. Angell School of Visual and Performing Arts and is grateful for the knowledge and expertise he brings.
“Dr. Kaiser brings significant experience in music education, as well as a strong commitment to mentoring our students,” Emerson said. “He is a committed Christian and a proven musician. He will be an excellent addition to our Division of Music.”
