Cost of college went up for all students at Seminole State College

In-state tuition and fees rose 13.5 percent for 2018-19 at Seminole State College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Oklahoma residents paid $5,040 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $600 more than the $4,440 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 121.4 percent more than residents this year, or $11,160. Their price tag grew 7.5 percent from $10,380 in 2017-18.

About 94 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Oklahoma residents. About 4 percent are residents of other states and 2 percent are citizens of other countries.

Data shows 90 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 234 students received grants or scholarships totaling $1.7 million and 82 students took out student loans totaling more than $397,495.

Including all undergraduates (1,602), 990 students used grants or scholarships totaling $6 million, and 439 students took out $2.4 million in federal student loans.
