Oklahoma Baptist University Men’s XC Finish 18th at NCAA Central Region Championships

Junior Maxamillian Wheeler steered Oklahoma Baptist to an 18th-place finish among thirty teams for Saturday’s 2022 NCAA Cross Country Central Region Championships.

Wheeler served as the spearhead for the Bison men in the 10,000 kilometer race. The junior crossed the finish line with a time of 29:56.3 with a 14:55.8 five-kilometer split, good for 18th overall. 

Up next was Carson Kardokus (31:45.2, 95th). Then came Samuel Fantoni (31:51.4, 104th), Parker Ables (31:59.1, 110th) and James Williams (32:16.0, 125th).  

With these efforts, OBU recorded five finishers in the top 150, running at an average time of 31:25.6.

Rounding off the notables were Blake Cope (33.12.5, 163rd) and Corey McIntire (34.24.9, 183rd).
