After the opening round at the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational, the Oklahoma Baptist women’s golf team sits in a tie for 11th place on the leaderboard. The Bison shot 323 (+39) through the tournament’s first 18 holes.

Valentina Nunez-Butzonitch paces the Bison in a tie for 20th overall, following a first-round five-over 76. Butzonitch, competing as an individual, recorded a team-best three-over-par finish on the back nine.

Karlee Holcomb and Morgan Becker follow in a tie for 37th after carding a nine-over 80. Becker led the duo with two birdies while Holcomb sunk one on hole three.

Next up was Josie Patterson, whose 81 (+10) placed tied for 51st on day one. Patterson cut her strokes by two on the back nine to post the second-best score for OBU on the backstretch.

Hayden Meiser and Lindyn Ross shot 82 (+11) and 83 (+12), respectively. Meiser is tied for 58th, while Ross sits tied at 63rd. Additionally, Ross turned in a tie for the lowest score (+3) on the back nine for the Bison.

Rounding out OBU’s participants today were Sam Lehr, Rylie Spaulding, and Rylei Gunter. Lehr leads the trio in a tie for 84th after shooting an 88 (+17). Spaulding (T-86th) and Gunter (91ST)carded scores of 89 (+18) and 91 (+20).
