The Woods County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a training on the Reid Technique of Interviewing and Interrogation for Investigators this week at Northwest Technology Center in Alva. This is a thirty hour class which ends on Friday afternoon. There are twenty-six students enrolled. The instructor is Rick Sjoberg. The curriculum is provided by John E. Reid and Associates. There are enrollees from all over Oklahoma and even one student who is attending from Hawaii.

During this program, students learn the core elements of the Reid Technique. This includes structuring the investigative interview; utilizing both investigative and behavior provoking questions; how to assess the credibility of the information provided by a subject during the interview process; and the Reid Nine Steps of Interrogation.
